I can't Believe this (Pissed off right now)

Okay, so today is Day of Silence, which is against hate crimes on the LGBT community. I'm not gay but I support LGBT rights because I have so many friends who are gay. I've been meaning to take part in the event for the past few years but couldn't because I always missed out on it.
So, I'm going to be silent (hopefully) for the entire day. I told my parents about it and my mom was totally cool. But, my dad  called me a fucking idiot for taking part and said that I shouldn't care because I'm straight. And then he proceeded to call me a sheep and said that the entire day was one huge joke and not important because it isn't religious.  Oh, so I'm a sheep for supporting a good cause & equal rights? What the fuck?? And who cares if it isn't religious.  He's slating and being ignorant about something he doesn't understand.
